Hi, I’m Hannah!I started my nail journey with Monaco Nail Academy in June 2023 and I continue to upskill as often as I can. My love for nails began way back in school, when I’d take painting classes and then come home to paint tiny artworks on my own nails (with acrylic paint, no less!). As a lifelong nail biter, I never liked the idea of going to a salon, so I took matters into my own hands (literally). That’s where I found not only a passion for nails, but also the joy of creating a safe space for others to feel the same comfort.I’m also a qualified hairdresser and spent many years in that industry before moving into other paths. Nails are my true happy place, and I look forward to one day turning that passion into my full time career.I’m based in Morrinsville, Waikato, but I love to travel and see new places. Terms & Conditions of Study with NailsbyHannahClingin & Monaco Nail Academy
By accepting these terms & conditions, you accept any and all additional terms under Monaco Nail Academy.
1. Payment Plans
(A) By enrolling and making the first payment on any course, or kit subscription, you agree to all agreed upon payments on the scheduled dates for the balance agreed upon
(B) You may choose to pay off the remaining balance in full at any time.
(C) If a payment is missed:
We will retry the payment in 2 days, then 7 days, then 9 days up until 14 days from the original date. Upon 14 days you will be invoice for two payments, the current and missing.
(C.1) If unsuccessful, you will be invoiced for the full remaining balance, with the invoice due 28 days from the date of issue.
(D) Your course access will be revoked immediately until the full invoiced amount is paid in full.
(D.1) Once the balance is paid in full:
- For Kit Subscriptions, all remaining kit items will be sent.
- For Courses, all relevant pre-recorded or written materials will be provided, and you will be able to book lessons or assessments.
(D.2) The 12-month Study Period* still applies to relevant courses, and no extensions will be granted for students whose access was revoked due to non-payment or late payment.
(E) Failure to pay the invoiced balance may result in your account being referred to a third-party debt collection agent, as outlined in the Debt Collection section.
Please note:
Payment via Afterpay is not considered a Payment Plan under these Terms and Conditions. These services pay NailsbyHannahClingin in full at the time of purchase, and your repayment terms are agreed directly with Afterpay.
(F) Entering into a Payment Plan means you are liable for all payments, regardless of whether you complete the course. Failure to make payments will result in the balance being invoiced, and eventually referred to debt collection if still unpaid.
2. Debt Collection
(A) If a payment of any kind is missed and not resolved within 14 days, an invoice for the full remaining balance of your course or kit subscription will be issued. This invoice will be due within 28 days from the date of issue.
(B) If payment is not received by the due date:
(B.1) A 10% late payment penalty will be added to the outstanding balance.
(B.2) Interest will begin accruing at 2.5% per month from the original due date.
(B.3) If the account remains unpaid 7 days after the invoice due date, it will be referred to Baycorp, our third-party debt collection agency.
(B.4) At this point:
A referral fee of $13.80 (incl. GST) and an additional fee of 28.75% of the unpaid balance will be added to your account.
(B.5) You will be liable for all costs associated with the recovery of the debt, including legal fees and third-party charges.
(C) By accepting these Terms and Conditions, you agree:
(C.1) That all invoices must be paid within 7 days unless otherwise stated.
(C.2) That any overdue amounts will incur penalties and interest as detailed above.
(C.3) That if referred to a debt collection agency, you will be responsible for all associated collection costs.
(D) These terms apply to all training enrolments and purchases made with NailsbyHannahClingin from the date of your first agreement to these Terms and Conditions, unless you click ‘I Accept’ on revised Terms and Conditions, in which case they will apply instead.
(E) By accepting these Terms and Conditions, you agree to indemnify NailsbyHannahClingin against all costs, whether commission, legal fee or otherwise, incurred by you or your duly authorised agents relating to the recovery of any unpaid account that may be outstanding from time to time pursuant to the terms of this agreement
(F) By accepting these Terms and Conditions, you agree that the Terms of Trade are strictly settlement on or before 7 days following issue of invoice and that NailsbyHannahClingin will be entitled to charge interest at the rate of 2.5% per month on all amounts that have not been paid in full by the due date.
3. Course Fees
(A) Course fees are payable in full at the time of enrolment, unless a Payment Plan has been entered into with agreement from both parties.
(B) We accept the following payment methods:
- Payment Plan
- Visa
- Mastercard
- Bank Transfer
- Afterpay – This is an automated third-party payment service. When you choose this option, NailsbyHannahClingin is paid in full at the time of purchase, and your repayment terms are managed directly with Afterpay.
(C) To help spread the cost, you may also choose to enrol one module at a time.
(D) We do not accept cash or cheque under any circumstances.
4. Withdrawing your Enrolment
(A) Once paid, course fees are non-refundable.
(B) Any cancellation requests must be made in writing to [email protected]
(C) If a refund is approved under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, payment will be made on the 20th of the following month.
(C.1) The CGA applies where a service is not delivered with reasonable care and skill, or does not match what was advertised. It does not apply simply because you’ve changed your mind or your circumstances have changed.
(D) We reserve the right to decline any request for cancellation or refund unless required by law.
(E) If your cancellation request is declined and you can not or do not attend as originally planned, your fees will be forfeited. You will need to re-enrol at full price in order to complete your qualification.
5. Lessons
(A) Both parties reserve the right to cancel lessons up to 7 working days before their scheduled date.
(B) Some skills may take longer than a single 3-hour lesson to complete. For example, your first set of extensions may require both a morning and afternoon session booked back-to-back. Others may be quicker, and efficient students might complete two skills in a single session.
(B.1) Lesson Guides (available at monaco.ac.nz/student-resources) includes recommended lesson counts for each skill — but these are averages. You’re welcome to work at your own pace. Don’t rush!
⚠️ Be careful with numbers in the Lesson Guide — a value of “.5” means half a lesson, not five. If a lesson is marked “2”, that means two 3-hour blocks on the same day (a total of 6 hours). If you choose not to book both, you may not meet the requirements, and you may be required to pay to reattend.
(B.2) Lessons can be completed in the order shown in the ‘Lesson Number’ column of your Guide, but to help with model availability and scheduling, some flexibility is allowed. If you choose to work out of order, you must follow the ‘Complete the following lessons first’ column.
(B.3)We check this when you arrive. If you have not completed the prerequisites and can’t swap to another skill on the day, your lesson will be marked incomplete and must be rebooked at your own cost.
(C) Nailsbyhannahclingin is happy to demonstrate steps during your lesson, but you are still required to complete the prerequisite online learning beforehand.
(C.1) If you haven’t, and can’t catch up or swap skills, the lesson will be marked incomplete and will need to be rebooked.
(D) To have a skill signed off, you must:
(D.1) Follow all guidance and the lesson plan, and
Complete five nails to the expected standard.
(D.2) If Nailsbyhannahclingin refuses to sign off your work, you have the right to request a second opinion from Monaco Owner - Penny Lawler — but this must be requested during the lesson, not afterwards.
(D.3) If a second opinion is not requested at the time, or Penny agrees with the NailsbyHannahClingin the lesson will be marked incomplete and rebooking will be at your own cost.
(E) In the rare event that NailsByHannahClingin cancels or reschedules a class, we will offer alternative dates or formats at no additional cost to you.
(F) NailsbyHannahClingin will not be held responsible for disruptions caused by events outside of our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, power outages, or platform outages (e.g. Zoom or course platform errors). In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule lessons or extend access, but no refunds or liability will apply.
6. Attendance
(A) Attendance of all lessons is compulsory.
(B) If your lessons have been pre-booked at the time of enrolment, or you are enrolled in a course with set lesson times (e.g. fortnightly at 6pm Monday), any lesson you do not attend must be rebooked at your own cost.
(C) These lessons must be attended in the order they are scheduled. If you must miss a lesson, it must be caught up within the following two weeks, before attending any further scheduled lessons. This is at an additional cost to you.
(D) While not guaranteed, we may be able to offer a space in an online group if availability allows.
(E) If you have not caught up before the next scheduled lesson and are therefore not ready to attend, this lesson will also be deemed cancelled and the same terms will apply.
(F) We reserve the right to charge an additional $90 cancellation fee for any cancellation made within 72 hours of a lesson.
(F.1) This is necessary because we run 1:1. When you cancel late and later rebook, you’ve used two potential lesson spaces — but only paid for one as part of your Course Fees.
(G) You have 12 months from the date of enrolment to complete all lessons associated with a module.
(H) Missed classes for any reason including illness will be treated with the same terms and conditions as a ‘Cancellation’. We understand you can’t plan for your illness but neither can we, and with 1:1, a refund resulting from your illness would mean a significant loss for us.
(I) If you are unable to attend a lesson without prior notice, please contact NailsbyHannahClingin via text - 0223215986 at the earliest possible notice.
7. No Shows
(A) The Attendance and Cancellation terms outlined above apply in full to no-shows.
(B) No exceptional circumstances will be taken into account. The terms are final and apply regardless of the reason for your absence.
8. Assessments
(A) There are seven Assessments within Monaco Nail Academy modules:
- Theory
- Practical Manicure
- Practical Liquid and Powder (Acrylic)
- Practical Hard Gel
- Practical PolyGel
- Practical Builder in a Bottle
- Practical E-File
(B) The Theory Assessment is completed from home via the link provided in The Theory of Nails module.
(C) The pass mark for all assessments is 80%, with no exceptions.
(D) All Assessments must be passed within your 12-month Study Period (the 12 months from your enrolment date). No extensions will be granted for this requirement. You should be prepared to repeat if necessary.
(E) Time management during assessments:
i. While there is no fixed time limit on assessments themselves, there may be a time restraint based on the lesson slot you book into and time does affect your score.
ii. Most lessons slots are three hours long, and your Educator needs 15 minutes at the end to complete your marking. Your Educator will not stay late to mark your work – you must finish with 15 minutes to spare or forfeit marking.
iii. Educators are entitled to rest and meal breaks under the Employment Relations Act 2000. As such, your Educator may take a scheduled break during longer lesson slots – be prepared to take that break as well.
9. Models
(A) You are expected to source your own models for all lessons that require them.

(B) To have a skill signed off, you only need to complete 5 nails (please note that Assessments require 10). You are required to work on a model for at least 80% of your lessons.
(C) We do not allow the use of practice hands. If a model is unavailable, the only alternative is to work on your own nails.
(D) If your model does not arrive, you will be required to source a replacement or work on yourself. We strongly recommend having a backup model arranged in advance.
(E) If you choose not to continue with the lesson due to a missing model, the session will be marked incomplete and will need to be rebooked at your own cost.
10. Certificates
(A) If you enrol in the Foundation Certificate, you will receive a Monaco Nail Academy Foundation Certificate with space for 12 modules to be completed.
(B) If you choose to enrol module by module, you can purchase a certificate specific to that Module at Monaco Nail Academy or through NailsbyHannahClingin.
11. Product
(A) When you enrol, you will have the opportunity to add beginner kits to support your training.
(B) If you choose not to purchase a kit, you will still be able to buy professional-grade products directly from Monaco Nail Academy while you study, upon completion of The Theory of Nails Module.
(C) All products used during your course must be professional-only or, where a professional-only option doesn’t exist, professional-standard .
12. Expectations
(12.1) As you’re learning, please place reasonable expectations on yourself. Not every set you complete will last as long as a seasoned tech’s — and that’s okay. It doesn’t mean you’re no good or haven’t learnt anything. Think about when you first learnt to drive — you might have passed your test, but you still weren’t as skilled as you are now. It’s the same with nails: passing means you’re competent, but experience and practice are what will take you to the next level.
(12.2) If you need help, support is available — but it is your responsibility to ask for it.
(12.3) The hours of training covered by your Course Fees are delivered within the structure of scheduled Modules. Training and mentoring outside of this structure is not included unless explicitly offered.
(12.4) You will have access to the Novice/Grads Facebook Group and associated Group Chats for as long as you are an active student or graduate. If you withdraw or do not complete your qualification, your access will be removed.
(12.5) We do not tolerate nastiness or anti-competitive behaviour in the groups and reserve the right to remove individuals at our discretion.
(12.6) Information provided within the groups is copyrighted by Monaco Nail Academy. Sharing this content with anyone outside the group is not permitted. We reserve the right to pursue legal action for copyright infringement if this occurs. That said, we’ve never had to remove anyone for anything other than non-completion — and we’re proud of the kind, supportive community that exists in the group.
13. General Information
(13.1) All course content, videos, workbooks, images, and other materials provided during your enrolment are the intellectual property of Monaco Nail Academy. These may not be copied, recorded, redistributed, or used for teaching purposes without written permission.
(13.2) All dates, times, and prices listed are in New Zealand time (NZT) and New Zealand dollars (NZD).
(13.3) Before starting your first class, please complete the Learning Styles Quiz and note your results: educationplanner.org/self-assessments/learning-styles
(13.4) It is essential that you join the Novice/Grads Facebook Group and the Group Chat associated with your course as soon as possible — this is our primary point of communication. If you do not have Facebook, you will need to create an account for the purposes of joining the group.
(13.5) Your Lesson Guides can be found inside each module and are accessible from the time of enrolment.
(13.6) Please do not private message Hannah Clingin or any Monaco staff. Use the group for all support or contact us via email at [email protected]
(13.7) By enrolling in this course, you agree to be added to our Mailing List to receive updates and information relevant to your training.
14. Student Responsibilities
(A) Students are responsible for:
- Managing their own time and Study Period
- Sourcing appropriate models
- Meeting assessment and lesson deadlines
- Completing prerequisite work and theory
- Participating respectfully in all community spaces
- Ensuring they have access to the necessary tools and materials for training
(B) We are here to support you – but as an adult learner, your success also depends on your own planning, communication, and participation.
(C) NailsbyHannahClingin & Monaco Nail Academy reserves the right to terminate a student’s enrolment, without refund, if they breach these Terms and Conditions, demonstrate disruptive or abusive behaviour, or fail to maintain a respectful and constructive learning environment.
15. Technology & Access Requirements
(A) Students are expected to have:
- Reliable access to the internet
- A device capable of running Zoom and viewing online video content
- Basic digital literacy to access and submit work through our platforms
(B) NailsbyHannahClingin & Monaco Nail Academy is not responsible for technical difficulties that arise due to issues with personal devices or connectivity.
(C) By enrolling, you consent to Monaco Nail Academy storing and using your personal information for the purposes of course administration, support, and communication. We will never sell your data to third parties.
16. Accessibility & Support
(A) If you require learning support or adjustments to training delivery due to disability, neurodiversity, or personal circumstances, please contact us at [email protected] as early as possible.
(B) While we cannot change our assessment standards, we will work with you to support your success wherever reasonably possible.
17. In Conclusion
(A) The Terms and Conditions listed above cover this and all future enrolments with NailsbyHannahClingin.
(B) This means that when you request to add additional Modules to your enrolment via email, phone, or other means, these Terms and Conditions apply.
(C) If the Terms and Conditions are updated after the date of your enrolment, we may require you to accept the new Terms and Conditions when enrolling in new modules.
(D) We reserve the right to change the Terms and Conditions at any time and apply them to future enrolments. This means if you are only enrolling in one Module at a time rather than all at once, different terms may apply to future Modules.
(E) By enrolling in future modules, you acknowledge that the current Terms and Conditions at the time of each enrolment will apply. We may update these Terms at any time and will notify you of significant changes. The requirements to complete your qualification will not change.
*Study Period: The 12-month period starting from the date of enrolment in each Module or Course, during which all training and assessments must be completed.
Policies of MATP - NailsbyHannahClingin
1. Associations
Hannah & NailsbyHannahClingin is a Bronze Accredited Training Partner of Monaco Nail Academy. By enrolling in in-person training, students acknowledge that their association is exclusively with Hannah & Nails by Hannah Clingin, and that Monaco Nail Academy bears no responsibility or liability for course delivery, payments, refunds, personal injury, or disputes. Monaco Nail Academy’s involvement is limited solely to the provision of resources and the issuance of certifications.
2. Costs
All fees paid to Hannah & NailsbyHannahClingin are allocated to the appropriate parties, which may include but are not limited to Monaco Nail Academy, Gold Accredited Training Partners, and Hannah & Nails by Hannah Clingin.
3. Refunds
All course fees paid to Hannah & NailsbyHannahClingin are non-refundable once a course has commenced, except in cases where continuation is not possible due to safety, health, or other extenuating circumstances. Requests for change of mind must be submitted within 72 hours of enrolment; after this period, no refunds will be issued for any portion of fees already paid to Monaco Nail Academy or its services.
4. Course Kits
(A) Monaco Kits, Products + Tools
Students are responsible for ordering all kits, products, and tools required for their courses. Where items are purchased through Monaco Nail Academy, all queries, returns, and liabilities rest solely with Monaco as the distributor, not with Hannah & NailsbyHannahClingin as the mentor.
(B) Other Distributors of Kits, Products + Tools
Where items are purchased through other distributors, all queries, returns, and liabilities rest solely with the distributor, and Hannah & NailsbyHannahClingin holds no association with such suppliers.
(C) All tools, Kits, Supplies and products must be professional use only
All kits, tools, supplies, and products must be professional-use only and obtained through reputable professional distributors. Students enrolled in Monaco courses may access professional products with proof of study, and it is their responsibility to obtain these prior to commencing in-person lessons.
(D) Where necessary supplies are not obtained, a fee of up to $50 may be charged for the use of mentor-provided products by prior arrangement. Failure to bring the required supplies will result in the lesson being recorded as incomplete, and the student will be required to purchase an alternate lesson slot once appropriate supplies have been obtained.
5. Monaco Affiliate Codes
Hannah & NailsbyHannahClingin no longer accepts the use of Monaco affiliate codes for courses. Course fees are set as low as possible to ensure consistent and competitive pricing for all.
6. Recording
Lessons conducted by Hannah & NailsbyHannahClingin may not be recorded in any form unless expressly permitted in advance on a case-by-case basis. Monaco Nail Academy reserves the right to request lesson recordings at any time for monitoring and quality control purposes.
7. Pricing
All course and kit costs are subject to change without prior notice.
(A) Fees for courses already enrolled and paid for will remain fixed and will not be altered after payment has been received.
8. Portfolio
Photographs of all nail lessons are required for record-keeping and quality assurance. These will be taken by Hannah & NailsbyHannahClingin and submitted to Monaco Nail Academy, along with marking sheets, as a mandatory component of in-person study.
9. Gold MATP
All assessments are observed by a Gold Accredited Training Partner of Monaco Nail Academy to ensure the quality of teaching, marking, and student work. This observation applies only to assessments and not to lessons. Gold MATP observers will attend via Zoom unless otherwise advised prior to the assessment date
10. Disputes
Any disputes relating to lessons, assessment marking, or outcomes must be submitted in writing within seven (7) days of the event. All concerns will be reviewed, and a resolution will be provided. If no resolution can be reached between the student, Hannah & NailsbyHannahClingin, Penny Lawler - Monaco Nail Academy Owner, will be engaged to review the matter and assist in reaching a fair outcome.
